“Money In The Bank” Preview
CM Punk will put his WWE Championship on the line at Money in the Bank in what’s sure to be another thrilling technical match against Daniel Bryan.
Vickie Guerrero, the interim General Manager of Raw and SmackDown, announced the WWE Championship Match on Twitter during the June 25 Raw SuperShow on her account@ExcuseMeWWE. She tweeted:
I’ve just confirmed with the WWE Board that at #MoneyInTheBank, @CMPunk will defend the WWE Championship against @WWEDanielBryan.
These two rivals clashed in May at WWE Over the Limit in a match that won’t soon be forgotten. Showcasing their bitter rivalry and proficient technical abilities, this intensely physical bout ended in controversy, as Punk pinned Bryan while nearly simultaneously tapping out. The Straight Edge Savior won the battle and retained his title.
More recently at No Way Out, Punk’s WWE Title was on the line again in a Triple Threat Match against Bryan and Kane. Thanks to interference by AJ, Punk hit the Go to Sleep on The Big Red Monster, allowing The Second City Saint to retain the WWE Championship.
The ever-increasingly unstable AJ has made her presence known around Punk, Bryan and Kane, whether she’s giving good luck kisses or wearing miniature versions of her latest flame’s gear. Punk and Bryan must wonder how the Geek Goddess will factor into their latest bout.
Will Punk continue his lengthy title reign when he faces his longtime rival, Bryan, at Money in the Bank? Will it be another close call or will AJ interfere again? If the Diva does get involved, will she take Punk’s side again or that of her ex-boyfriend, Bryan? Tune in to Money in the Bank July 15, live on pay-per-view at 8 ET/5 PT. (HOW TO WATCH)

“The Straightedge Superstar” Coming to Chicago & Ohio Comic Cons!
Luck is for losers, at least according to CM Punk. Even though his arm is literally tattooed with good-luck charms, Punk believes you make your own good fortune through hard work and intense preparation.
Growing up in Chicago, CM Punk’s childhood consisted of watching the likes of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka exchange words, then blows. Such heated rivalries helped Punk realize that sports-entertainment was where he belonged. Adopting the “straightedge” movement—in which one bases life around personal development, and avoids drugs, alcohol and a dependency lifestyle — Punk has brought his own style to WWE.
Punk’s in-ring repertoire is an assimilation of fighting styles he has learned from his travels around the world. In his WWE pay-per-view debut as a part of Team DX at Survivor Series 2006, Punk brought down the house in Philadelphia where fans showed their respect for his talents.
After becoming the only multiple-time Straight Edge World Champion in WWE history, Punk set out to convert his fellow Superstars as well as members of the WWE Universe to his way of thinking. Through his use of persuasive arguments and keen intellect, “The Second City Savior” has acquired a devout following both in and out of the squared circle.
Punk would later use his silver tongue to target his superiors with the hope of inspiring change in WWE as the self-appointed “voice of the voiceless” shortly before his monumental first WWE Championship victory over John Cena on July 17, 2011 — the final night of his contract. After the bell, Mr. McMahon watched helplessly as The Straight Edge Superstar vanished through the Chicago crowd with the coveted title as Punk’s hometown fans passionately chanted his name.
When a re-signed Punk returned on RAW to WWE with his title to confront the newly crowned WWE Champion, Cena, it would mark the first time in the championship’s rich history that two Superstars held claim to the WWE Title simultaneously. Punk’s re-emergence as WWE Champion was controversial but, then again, Punk has always thrived on controversy.
Whether a sole champion of his cause or flanked by supporters, verbally – from the commentary booth – or by force in the ring, CM Punk continues to preach from his self-appointed pulpit at the epicenter of the WWE Universe.
The Straightedge Superstar has taken his thrill for living the clean life outside of the ring. He has tossed the first pitch at the games of his beloved Chicago Cubs and was the Sports Grand Marshall of the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He has made numerous television appearances including Monster Garage on the Discovery Channel and Ghost Hunters on Syfy. The music fan also served as guest- correspondent for FUSE.
Punk can be seen each week on USA Network’s Monday Night RAW at 9/8c.
